The nonwoven fabric is treated with a bactericidal and hydrophobic agent. It contains silver ions, which control bacteria through a triple mechanism.

The antibacterial silver-based finish of the nonwoven fabric prevents the growth of bacteria on its surface. Silver nanoparticles exhibit bactericidal and fungicidal properties, while maintaining the natural balance of bacterial flora on the skin. Lam Protect nonwoven fabric is finished with a non-migratory antibacterial agent. To increase protection against droplet-borne bacteria, the nonwoven fabric is equipped with an additional hydrophobic coating that prevents liquids from penetrating the nonwoven fabric structure. In the presence of moisture, antibacterial silver ions are released as needed, inhibiting further bacterial cell proliferation.
