RANGE

The maximum range depends on the terrain and is greatest in open, flat areas.

Any obstacles such as trees, hills and buildings reduce the range.

Radio waves propagate particularly poorly inside complex metal structures and from inside a car.

The average range in a city among buildings and obstacles does not exceed 1 or 2 km.

In sparsely built-up areas with individual trees, a range of 4–6 km can be achieved.

In open areas without obstacles between the antennas, such as in the mountains, communication over distances of 10 km or more is possible.

Midland introduces a new, complete range of XT handheld radios operating on the generally available PMR-446 standard.

The range includes 5 models and 2 carrying-case sets enhanced with additional accessories.

The line includes both very attractively priced models such as the Midland X10 and X30, as well as models with advanced functionality such as the Midland X50, X60 and X70.

The Midland X50 and X70 Adventure versions are carrying cases containing 2 radios, microphone headsets, chargers and batteries.

All radios have carefully designed housings and attractive packaging. Apart from the entry-level X10, they also feature USB charging as standard.
