The newly redesigned Rossignol HERO Athlete GS with Look SPX 12 Rockerace bindings mounted on an R22 plate is our proven racing ski for giant slalom competition in the U14 and U16 age categories.

The modernized ski construction is based on the latest developments and testing with World Cup athletes and is adapted to the individual sizes 170, 175, 182 and 185 cm.

The appropriately lower stiffness, lower than in the FIS models and matched to each size, makes the Hero Athlete GS the optimal choice for developing racers looking to improve their skills and achieve their best times on every GS course.

The ski is built with a beech wood core in sizes 170, 175 and 182, and a stiffer ash wood core in the 185 cm size. An LCT titanium rail is integrated along the entire length of the wood core. Line Control technology eliminates counter-flex, providing better ski-to-snow contact and stability through the turn. The race-ready construction provides a balance of complete control over the turn line, power and precision to win races. The wood core has been additionally reinforced with two layers of titanal along its entire length and width on both sides of the core. This reinforcement provides a solid mechanism for returning energy and power after every turn, even in difficult conditions and at high speeds.

The cascading tip construction uses alternating layers of metal and fiberglass reinforcement to reduce ski weight and control tip torsion. Combined with the Full Sidewall – an ABS Tri-material sidewall – the construction provides smooth turn initiation, greater precision, grip and efficient edge hold along the entire length. In addition, the sporty LOOK R22 plate acts like a suspension system, providing 100% confidence in edge hold through turns on hard surfaces in the area beneath the boot. The skis feature full camber.

The LOOK SPX 12 Rockerace binding is the direct result of cooperation with our World Cup athletes. It offers long elastic travel, immediate power transfer and excellent shock absorption for maximum reduction of unwanted release. The short mounting zone and semi-suspended heel increase the ski's flex for optimal precision and control.

The binding is compatible only with ISO 5355 A and GripWalk® ISO 23223 A boots, as well as skis equipped with an R22 plate. The monolithic R22 plate acts as a sport suspension system, increasing the ski's dynamics and stiffness under the boot.
