The Shimano BR-M8100 is a disc brake from the Deore XT racing groupset, featuring an I-SPEC EV mount lever and an Ice Technologies caliper. The caliper is designed for safe handling on professional XC courses. Its two-piston design offers high braking power. The component is compatible with resin and metal pads, which were compatible with the previous version (M8000). A major advantage of the caliper is the Ice Technologies system, which rapidly cools the pads, increasing durability and efficiency. This is especially useful during aggressive riding. The BL-M8100 brake lever is universal for various MTB disciplines. The Servo Wave system shortens the free stroke and positively affects braking power. The clamp is rigid, thanks to the additional lever support – not only at the clamp but also at another point. A convenient knob allows you to easily move the lever and adjust the component to suit your hand size and riding style. The brake lever also includes a screw for adjusting the free travel.

The kit is pre-cast and ready for installation. It consists of brake calipers connected to the brake lines and separate brake levers. All that's required is to screw the brake line to the lever.

I-Spec EV

I-Spec EV technology offers increased stiffness and a wide range of brake lever adjustment. It can be easily adjusted to suit different hand anatomy and riding styles, such as XC and enduro. The lever can also be adjusted with the handlebar at various angles (up to 60° difference). This significant stiffness is achieved thanks to the additional lever rest – it rests not only on the clamp but also separately on the handlebar, thanks to the tightening of the lever tip. The I-Spec EV system also allows for a cleaner cockpit, as the seatpost control can be mounted in the same location as the shift lever.
