Dark Moon – ERT / MODERN AND ECOLOGICAL MTB HELMET, has a shell made of recycled polycarbonate obtained from plastic bottles, which gives it amazing blue reflections in the sunlight.
In 2012, Urge noticed a particular interest in jet helmets in mountain bike and e-bike riding. Inspired by moto-trial racing, the REALJET model gained a huge following. As technology advances, these helmets allow for lighter, more efficient helmet designs. Welcome to RASCAS
Naturally shaped
Because simplicity is the ultimate sophistication, this mountain bike helmet is designed to be both simple and elegant. A playful texture on the visor reveals the brand logo in sunlight.
Your own style
Whether worn on the nose or under the visor, goggles are a part of our riding style, so it was important that they fit perfectly with the RASCAS. The goggles, on the other hand, are for those who aren't afraid to wear them, hardcore riders or freeriders. The helmet is designed to fit perfectly with the goggle frame. The flat design at the top of the temples allows for a perfect fit with the goggle strap, just like a full-face helmet.
POP-OFF system
The POP-OFF system, developed by Urge, goes beyond a standard two-position canopy. It features a third virtual position: the detachable position. This position is difficult to access, preventing mishandling, and operates under greater forces. The goal is to reduce the risk of injury and maintain the canopy's integrity in the event of an accident.
SOFT MEANS SMARTER
Our state-of-the-art MTB bike helmet couldn't do without the best protection, so it naturally uses ERT technology.
Your everyday helmet
Because we wanted this helmet to meet all our requirements, we equipped the Rascas with an innovative Fidlock magnetic buckle for a more comfortable, practical, and secure fit. Additionally, the helmet features a discreet and precise adjustment system at the back of the head for a perfect fit.
Discover
Unlike our first fiberglass model, the RASCAS features in-mold construction, allowing for greater design freedom. This is also the perfect opportunity for the new design team to reaffirm the brand's heritage while creating a new dynamic. Technical requirements such as airflow, an innovative visor system, safety, and comfort were at the forefront of the design, and the helmet's aesthetic responds to these requirements. Perfectly balanced between softness and aggressiveness, this helmet adapts to the rider's fluid ride, effortlessly tackling challenging trails. Just like the RASCAS trail above Grimaud, from which the helmet takes its name.
Why use synthetic fibers when Mother Nature already does a great job? Unlike traditional materials, our bamboo fiber offers a unique combination of strength, flexibility, and comfort. Furthermore, its moisture-wicking properties help regulate temperature and keep the rider dry on long rides. Bamboo is a durable, rapidly renewable, and eco-friendly material, making it an ideal choice for environmentally conscious cyclists.
After several years of rigorous testing, in 2024 we will finally be able to equip one of our helmets with a recycled polycarbonate shell. We are now able to produce a helmet made from 100% recycled material! The use of this recycled "plastic" limits the color choices, so for now, it is only available in RASCAS helmets called DARK MOON. This name comes from the dark blue color that reflects in sunlight. The blue color comes from the color of recycled plastic bottles. Helmets made from recycled polycarbonate naturally offer the same levels of durability, shock resistance, and performance as those made from new material.
Air flow
Some unscrupulous journalists use the number of vents in helmets as an indicator of breathability. However, good helmet ventilation is characterized by its ability to actively and passively dissipate heat. To achieve this, the RASCAS helmet is equipped with large vents at the front and rear, providing passive airflow. More importantly, to provide active ventilation, internal ventilation channels direct air, helping to keep your head cool and your mind clear.

TECHNOLOGIES:
Energy Reduction Technology®
Integrated technology
ERT is a revolutionary system of soft, advanced polymer helmet inserts designed to absorb rotational and linear impact energy through unique material properties and structural geometry. This patented technology provides additional protection against brain injuries. Unlike other hard materials, which only respond to high-impact impacts, ERT activates instantly, even in lower-energy impacts.
Most helmets must pass certification tests simulating worst-case impact forces exceeding 300 g. However, they are not required to absorb the lower-energy impacts often associated with brain injuries and concussions. ERT is designed to provide a higher level of protection against these critical, lower-energy impacts.
ERT is designed to provide a higher level of protection against these critical, lower energy impacts.
In tests conducted at Dynamic Research, TASS and the University of Strasbourg, helmets with ERT demonstrated better linear and rotational energy absorption than helmets without, in all crash scenarios.
ERT has been proven to improve energy management in lower impacts without compromising helmet performance in higher G-force tests.
No one wants to crash, regardless of speed. But if it does happen, wouldn't you want your helmet to have the soft, immediate energy dispersion that ERT offers?
Softer means smarter.
FIDLOCK®
Magnetic buckle system
These innovative buckles offer cyclists a more pleasant, comfortable, and safer experience. Their magnetic design allows them to be closed and opened with one hand, allowing you to quickly fasten your helmet without having to interrupt your ride.
With their elegant appearance and intuitive operation, these buckles add a touch of style and modernity to helmets.
RETENTION SYSTEM
Discreet adjustment
This system provides precise and comfortable adjustment, allowing cyclists to find the perfect fit and easily adjust the tension to provide optimal support while riding. Furthermore, discreet adjustment systems are often lighter than traditional ones, reducing the overall weight of the helmet without compromising safety. Furthermore, these systems offer a sleek and aesthetically pleasing design, giving cyclists a modern and stylish look.
POP-OFF SYSTEM
Our patented canopy system
Our patented system offers 3 visor positions: a default low position, a high position for storing a mask or goggles, and a final position that allows the visor to be moved towards the rear of the helmet.
This design allows the visor to be quickly released upon impact, reducing the risk of facial and neck injuries. In the event of a fall, the visor can be easily removed, avoiding excessive pressure on the head and neck.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
This helmet is designed to absorb impact energy through partial destruction or damage. Even though such damage may not be visible, the helmet should be destroyed or replaced if it has been involved in an accident. Unfortunately, some accidents cause head injuries that cannot be prevented by ANY helmet. Depending on the type of impact, even very low speeds can cause serious or fatal head injury. Always exercise extreme caution and read this manual carefully.
WARNING
This helmet is intended solely for cyclists, skateboarders, and inline skaters. It is not intended for use in motorsports or on mopeds and will not provide adequate safety protection. No helmet can protect the wearer from all unforeseen impacts. However, for maximum protection, the helmet must fit properly and all fastening latches must be securely fastened. Do not modify or remove any original components of this helmet other than as recommended by the manufacturer.
LIFESPAN
We recommend our customers replace their helmets every five years from the date of first use. Always replace your helmet immediately if it's damaged, has an accident, or is subjected to a serious fall, as these can cause cracks, even those invisible to the naked eye. Please dispose of your helmet at the end of its useful life. For proper disposal, please contact your local waste disposal facility.
