FEATURES

- The high-volume Ranger 2.8/3.0 tread is covered with small, short knobs to provide the traction of a knobby tyre without the increased rolling resistance that comes with more substantial knobs. This makes the Ranger 2.8/3.0 an excellent choice for trail riding or bikepacking.

- Knob sipes in various directions provide better traction whether you are pedalling, braking or cornering. The sipes also improve grip on wet rocks and roots by increasing the number of working edges on each knob in contact with the trail.

- The significant spacing between the knobs provides room for mud to be expelled from the tyre instead of sticking to it. The open spacing ensures that the knobs always maintain contact with the trail rather than being covered in sticky mud.

- TCS (Tubeless Compatible System) is WTB’s standardised tubeless system. These tyres feature a tubeless TCS casing that nearly eliminates punctures and allows you to run lower tyre pressures to improve traction and comfort compared with a traditional tubed tyre.

DUAL DNA COMPOUND
Dual DNA is the ideal combination of performance, traction and durability. The centre tread features a harder rubber compound for faster rolling and increased durability, while the sidewalls are made from softer, slower-rebounding rubber to improve control and traction.

A harder, fast and efficient tread compound along the centre line of the tyre. The tyre’s sides and side knobs are coated with a soft compound designed to be compliant while remaining trail-worthy.

SG2
Single-ply TCS Light mountain tyres are available with SG2 puncture protection. SG2 is a lightweight nylon layer that protects all areas of the tyre with an additional level of puncture protection. Bead-to-bead SG2 technology also improves sidewall stability and overall tyre support without the additional weight of a Tough casing (two-ply). The flat nylon fibres in SG2 reduce the amount of rubber needed to fill the gaps between the fibres compared with traditional protective layers made with round fibres. The increased fibre-to-rubber ratio improves puncture resistance while reducing weight and improving flexibility compared with a Tough casing. Independent laboratory tests have shown that Bead-to-bead SG2 provides 80% better sidewall protection than traditional single-ply tyres without SG2.
