A durable nylon strip sits between the rim and the tubeless tape to prevent the tubeless tape from pressing into the spoke holes and ensures a smooth connection between the tire and rim. The smooth surface facilitates tire installation by preventing air from escaping around the bead with each indentation during inflation. The Solid Strip also protects the airtight system from punctures in the event of a broken spoke.

Reliable 6069 Alloy: Proterra rims are extruded from WTB's 6069 aluminum alloy for optimal strength, while a bead-peen finish and durable decals keep your wheels looking fresh. Our extensive testing has shown that other 6000 series alloys are less impact-resistant, while the stiffer 7000 series alloys produce a harsher ride and tend to increase flat spots.
