FUNCTIONS

- Square lugs strike wet or dry terrain for unwavering traction, while their consistent spacing provides predictable stability and confidence at high speeds.

- Tall side knobs are supported by a raised base that prevents them from flexing under the unabashedly powerful forces of cornering. The side knobs feature perpendicular cuts that enhance traction when braking or cornering.

Everything about the Vigilante is designed to improve cornering traction as a front tire. Aggressive outer knobs dig into corners, while directional sipes grapple with rocks and roots in both wet and dry conditions. We recommend pairing the Vigilante 2.3 with the Trail Boss 2.25 in the rear.

- TCS (Tubeless Compatible System) is WTB's standardized tubeless system. These tires feature a TCS tubeless casing that virtually eliminates punctures and allows for lower tire pressures for improved traction and comfort compared to a traditional tubed tire.

TOUGH

Two full casing layers extend from bead to bead to provide a more puncture-resistant tire surface. The use of two layers of casing also provides additional sidewall support during cornering and allows riders to experience increased traction at lower pressures than would be possible with thinner, single-ply casings. TCS Tough tires are a reliable choice for aggressive, enduro, gravity, and e-bike riders seeking maximum peace of mind on the trail. Some riders may opt for a TCS Tough tire on the rear while also enjoying the weight savings of a single-ply TCS Light tire on the front.

TRITEC

TriTec combines three different rubber compounds to provide varying levels of grip, support, and durability depending on their placement in the tread. The high-durability rubber underpins the entire tread pattern, extending slightly into the base of each lug to provide additional support beneath the softer compounds used in the rest of each lug. The center lugs are made of a medium-durability compound that provides grip and durability without sacrificing rolling performance, while the outer lugs are made of the softest compound for maximum grip and a slow rebound.

Configuration: LIGHT FAST ROLLING

A harder, faster, and more efficient tread compound is used in the centerline of the tire. The sidewalls and lateral knobs are coated with a softer compound designed to be compliant yet trail-worthy.

SG2
TCS Light single-ply mountain tires are available with SG2 puncture protection. SG2 is a lightweight nylon ply that protects all areas of the tire with an additional level of puncture protection. SG2 bead-to-bead technology also improves sidewall stability and overall tire support without the added weight of a Tough (two-ply) casing. The flat nylon fibers in SG2 reduce the amount of rubber needed to fill the gaps between the fibers compared to traditional round-fiber protective plies. The increased fiber-to-rubber ratio increases puncture resistance while reducing weight and improving flexibility compared to our Tough casing. Independent laboratory testing has shown that Bead-to-bead SG2 provides 80% better sidewall protection than traditional single-ply tires without SG2.
