What is microfiber?

It is a type of fiber less than 10 micrometers thick (1μm = 1/1000mm, 0.001 mm) made from nylon and polyester. In towels, it is usually 80% Polyester, 20% Polyamide.

Microfiber is characterized by a star-shaped fiber in which a nylon core is surrounded by polyester. Thanks to this fiber structure, this microfiber is extremely absorbent.
